Round Robins

OVERVIEW

Round Robins are a great way to have some competitive fun playing Pickleball without having to deal with Paddle Stacking and deciding who to play with at Open Play, or spending an entire day waiting around for your turn to play in a typical Tournament environment. Round Robins are offered throughout the year and are designed for Individuals or Teams looking for leveled and fun play. Round Robins typically are scheduled in 2-3 hour sessions and you play “with” and “against” all other players when you register as an Individual. Some Round Robins are offered weekly, while our larger Round Robins are offered every few months.

INDIVIDUALS

Weekly Round Robins are offered at all locations and are very similar to Open Play where players can register themselves for a variety of sessions based on their Player Rating and the Location, Day and Time they choose. Pricing for Individual Round Robins are similar to Open Play and are often scheduled at the same time as Open Play sessions to allow players to choose to play some days in an Organized Round Robin format or register for Open Play on other days.  Check CourtReserve for more details and to register.

TEAMS
A few times a month, we offer the opportunity for players to register as a TEAM. Each team will play all their games together against each of the other teams in their division. These team Round Robins are a great way for players wanting to practice for a tournament, or always want to play together during Open Play (which is not allowed) to be able to play all their games together. One player should register and pay for the the Team and list their partners name on the registration form. Both players must have an account in CourtReserve and have an average Player Rating equal to the Player Rating required for the Round Robin. Check CourtReserve for more details and to register.

TOURNAMENTS
A few times a year, Pickleball Charlotte will host, or co-host, large Round Robin Tournaments with Prizes, Raffles, Food, Sponsors, etc. These tournaments usually follow the same basic format of our normal weekly Round Robins and are often followed by a single elimination playoff for some of the top teams. The Round Robin format is the best way to guarantee all teams and players to play a certain number of competitive games and still be able to declare a winner at the end.  Check CourtReserve for more details and to register.

NOTES

• Round Robin formats are meant to be Fun and Competitive.
• You will get to play with and against each of the other players in your division.
• Round Robins start and end on time. Please plan to be on time and stay the entire session.
• The rotation of who you will play with is randomized and match ups will be provided to the group at the start of the session.
• The winner is determined by total wins. If there is a tie, then points are looked at followed by head-to-head.
• Games are played to 11 or until time expires for each game.
• For a limited time, each winner will receive a Round Robin Championship T-Shirt. (Limit on shirt per person.)
• Please Bring Your Own Pickleball To The Court Each Game.
• Please do not be a “NO SHOW”. Since Round Robins are for a set number of players and a set format, it is important that all players show up to play and be on time. Players simply not showing up may be banned from future events at Pickleball Charlotte.
• Our CourtReserve system accepts Credit Cards or Account Credit to pay for your Round Robin Events. CourtReserve will automatically charge you the correct fee based on your current membership level and the location you are signing up for. A paid membership is not required to play in our Round Robins. To register for any Round Robin, or any Program or Activity at Pickleball Charlotte, you must have at least a “Non-Member” membership. • Some Round Robins are scheduled for All Player Levels, while others are scheduled for Specific Player Levels. (Visit our Player Ratings page to learn more about Player Levels and Ratings.)
• Some Round Robins may allow you to sign up for a Waitlist if the session is full. A Credit Card on file is required to be added from the Waitlist. Players will be automatically added if an opening comes available before the start of the session. Players should drop themselves from the Waitlist at any time if they do not want to be added.
• Round Robins can be cancelled on your CourtReserve APP at any time up to 12 hours before the start time. Cancellations made at least 12 hours before the start of your session will receive an automatic full credit to your CourtReserve Online Account. Cancellations made after the 12-hour deadline will not receive an automatic credit. As a norm, there are no credits issued after the deadline except for extenuating circumstances. An email to [email protected] is required if you are wanting us to consider a possible credit or partial credit for cancellations made after the deadline.
